New Strategy

I was inspired by this post on Money Saving Mom to try out a new coupon strategy. I really hated the baseball card holders and "my clip as I need it" strategy never really benefited me. I always hated the thought of clipping all the coupons, but realized that it was the only way to really save. Now I have my box that I can take into the store and can pull out a coupon when I spot a deal.

Now for some reason I had the hardest time finding a recipe box, the box I got isn't really even a recipe box. I ended up finding a reply card box in the wedding section of JoAnn's. After adding some more dividers I think it's perfect.

Back into the swing of things

Well I'm trying to get back into this coupon business now that my toothpaste, soap & shampoo supply is dwindling. I've got a new strategy that I think will help (you can read about that above).

Here is how my day went today

Photobucket
CVS transaction 1
—————————————————
(2) Wheat Thins = $2
(2) Ritz crackers = $2
(2) Right Guard deoderants = $6
Irish Spring soap = $4.99
Colgate toothpaste = $2.99
(2) Huggies Sensitive wipes = $12

- (2) $5 Huggies coupons = $10
- $2/2 Ritz
- $1/2 Wheat Thins
- .75 Colgate toothpaste
- .50 Irish Spring soap
- $5/$25 CVS coupon

Total = 11.16 (tax included) Used Gift Card from new prescription.
ECB earned = $11 This is the closest I've ever been. Whoo hoo!!

Photobucket
CVS transaction 2
—————————————————
Rightguard deoderant = $2.99
Irish Spring soap = $4.99
Colgate toothpaste = $2.99
Fusion razors = $14.99
Fusion shave gel = FREE w/purchase
(2) Reeses whips = $1.78

- $4 Fusion razors
- $1 Reeses whips

Total $24.68
ECB earned = $10

Photobucket
Walgreens Transaction
—————————————————————
(2) M&M peanut = $5
gum = $1.29

- $1/2 Manu. M&M coupon
- $1/2 Walgreen M&M coupon
- FREE Wrigley slim pack

Total = $3.44

Now for my second Walgreens transaction. This was what I was after the first time around, but they didn't have the soap.

Walgreens Transaction 2
———————————————————————

(8) Dove Beauty Bars = 9.52
Dr Pepper Popsicles = $2
(2) Cadbury Eggs (not pictured) = $1.40

- $10 RR from last week

Total= $3.66
RR earned = $10

Now the popsicles weren't really necessary. I was affraid I wouldn't make it to ten dollars, but my math sucks cause I didn't need them after all.

Its a miracle!!

Ok, I've let this coupon thing slip big time. I really want to get back into the swing of things. I'm going to try a new coupon strategy, so I'll let you know how that goes.

Back to my miracle. I was able to print a bricks coupon. Those with Macs know the headache when it comes to all those great coupons that end up being bricks. You know a brick coupon when the link starts off www.brick. . .

So out of the blue I tried to actually print one and it did. But then I tried a different brick coupon it didn't work. So maybe someone somewhere is getting around to fixing things or maybe I was in the coupon god's favor that day. Who knows, but it may just open a whole new world of coupons for me.

Upromise

I came across a blog yesterday that mentioned ecoupons at Upromise and was intrigued. I always see the tag beside items at the grocery, but have not followed up on it. Check out this link for Upromise. You can register your store cards and you will receive a % back on select purchases to go towards your child's college fund. I registered my CVS and Kroger card. You may register multiple cards, so you want to hunt down family members and attach their cards as well! The best part is they now have ecoupons that you can load onto your cards. These are similar to shortcuts or cellfire, but instead of deducting money from your grocery bill, the money is deposited into your upromise account! For example, If I buy a pack of Huggies, and have an e-coupon loaded on my Kroger or CVS card, I will have $1 automatically added to my account! (If only they were for Pampers!).

Speaking of Pampers, if you use this brand, don't forget to sign up for the Gifts to Grow program! It's a great way to earn extra rewards for something you have to buy anyway!

Free Milk & Grapes

Some of you guys may not have a super target, but here are some coupons that would get you free grapes and free organic milk.

We go through 4 gallons a week so free milk is HUGE, even if it is only 8oz.
